broccoli & office supplies
Jack: I'm only interested in office supplies and broccoli now.
Jack's Mom: What?
Jack: That's cuz I'm an adult now.
Happy birthday Jack! Welcome to adulthood!

thanks, Levi
Shout out to my good samaritan, Levi. He stopped along the highway in the pouring rain to help me change a tire.

happy
I was house hunting today, and looked at this amazing piece of property. On it, was a gorgeous house, and old red barn, and this shed. I thought it would make a really cool art studio.

angry kitty
I picked up Cheetah today, after 10 days at the kitty kennel. She reminded me every 10 seconds how angry she was. A short, rough toned, "meow," followed by squinty eyes, and pressed back ears.
The problem is, I'm not sure if she's angry because I left her for 10 days,
or if she's angry because I came to pick her up!

the orchid
Today, I attended the funeral of my friend, Mieko. I hope everyone is fortunate enough to have someone in their life like her. Mieko was life-giving. She was beautiful, strong, and joyful. And she had the rare gift of making you feel worthwhile, like you really mattered in the world. She celebrated - you.
On the mantle at the memorial service, there were orchids. The orchid is a flower of magnificence, representing rare and delicate beauty. A perfect symbol for Mieko's life.
After returning home, the flowers on my window sill caught my eye. The orchid had bloomed just a little bit more today. I felt inspired. I felt inspired to live more, love more, create more, and just be more. Thank you, Mieko. I am sad you are no longer with us on this earth, but I am happy you will live among us and in us - forever.
